A Letter to God Summary Class 10 English
In this article we will read a summary of the Epistle to God. The author of the story "A Letter to God" is G.L. Fuentes. He was one of the greatest writers of his time. He was also a Mexican poet, novelist, and journalist. This story revolves around the idea of having unquestioning faith in God. The story here takes place in a Latin American country. The main character of the story, the peasant Lencho, writes a letter to God. In the letter, he learns that his entire crop has been destroyed by a devastating hailstorm and asks the Almighty for help. His wishes are partially, if not completely, fulfilled, but in the end he remains ungrateful. Additionally, he questions the postmaster's honesty and humility. But they were the only ones who actually (anonymously) helped me with money in the name of God.
A Letter to God Summary
Lencho was an avid farmer. He expected a good harvest. Unfortunately for him, a hailstorm came and his crops were completely destroyed. Lencho was very sad. However, he had strong faith in God. He was confident that God would help him. He was also a very friendly person. Although he worked on the farm for a long time, he mastered writing. So he wrote a letter to God. In the letter, he asked God to send him 100 pesos. Then he went to the post office and put the letter in the mailbox.
The postman took out a letter from the mailbox. He read the address written on it and laughed out loud. He also rushed to the postmaster and showed him this strange letter. What's more, the postmaster laughed as well when he saw God's address. But when he read the letter, he became very serious. He praised this man who undoubtedly believed in God and was determined to help financially. He called on post office employees to donate. Additionally, he also donated a portion of his salary. However, as per Mr. Lencho's request, he only collected a little more than 50 pesos. The postmaster put the money in an envelope. It was addressed to Lencho.
On Sunday Lencho came to the post office again. He asked if there was a letter addressed to him. The postmaster took out the letter and handed it to Lencho. Lencho was not surprised to see the money. But while counting the money, he became angry with God. He was convinced that God could never make a mistake. He took paper and ink and wrote another letter to God. Then he threw it in the mailbox.
After Mr. Lencho left, the postmaster and his clerk read the letter. In it, Lencho complained to God that he had only received 70 pesos. He also asked God to send him the remaining money. But he asked God not to send him money through the mail. He wrote that the postal workers were a group of fraudsters and therefore may have stolen the money.
Conclusion of a letter to God
We learned that faith has the power to give us what we want to meet our needs. But we must realize that humanity is still victorious.
